History
The Rhode Island Baseball Institute was opened in 1992 in Johnston, Rhode Island. In 1994, the Institute moved into its present location at 2011 Post Rd in Warwick, Rhode Island. Over 1,000 athletes attend our school during the three month winter sessions, leading up to the beginning of each season. We have varying levels of instructors, from former major leaguers to former players who have come through our school. All our staff is well trained and prepared to provide quality instruction on all facets of the game.

Mission
What separates RIBI from other training facilitates is our commitment to provide professional, quality, and consistent instruction on both fundamental and advanced skills of the game. We strive to develop players and progress there ability so they are prepared to play at the next level, whether it be in high school, college, or professionally.

We offer fall and winter classes for players of all ages and abilities. The classes we offer include hitting, fielding, pitching, catching, strength & conditioning, and much more. (See Winter and Fall class page for more info).

The RIBI staff also offers 1-1 lessons beginning in April and running throughout the summer. Players can start to schedule these lessons the last week of March. The lessons can be for ½ hour or 1 hour with a choice of hitting, fielding, pitching, or girls fast pitch-pitching.

Facility
The 11,000 square foot facility is 130 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 22 feet high. It includes 6 portable batting cages (4 long cages and 2 short cages), along with several soft toss and tee areas. There are three clay mounds and six portable wooden mounds. Our Jugs pitching machines (7) do not have ball hoppers and are interchangeable for fast pitch softball.
